Camp OFLA 2025 launches on June 8—and we’re asking for your help to make our 20th year of language learning the best one yet!

Camp OFLA is a residential world language camp for students in grades 3–8, offering them an unforgettable experience in Spanish, French, German, Russian, Japanese, or Korean. Each day, campers explore language through games, songs, crafts, cooking, and cultural activities. Rooted in comprehensible input, experiential learning, and ACTFL’s 5 C’s, Camp OFLA creates a joyful and effective environment for language acquisition at a critical age—long before formal high school coursework begins.

In today’s educational landscape, early-start language programs are becoming increasingly rare. Yet research continues to affirm what we as language educators already know: younger learners acquire languages more naturally and retain them more deeply when given early, meaningful exposure. Camp OFLA helps bridge the widening gap, giving students a place to connect with language in a way that’s both memorable and motivating.

Camp OFLA is proudly built and staffed by educators—and it’s even helped launch careers! OWLA President Megan Brady began her journey as a Camp OFLA cabin leader. At this year’s 2025 OWLA Conference, Camp OFLA was recognized during the keynote address for its impact on sustaining Ohio’s world language pipeline.

As of now, we have 35 campers registered—and room for 85. Our goal is to fill every cabin with curious learners ready to try something new, meet new friends, and grow in global awareness.

Camp tuition is $545, with scholarships and several discount options that can bring the cost down to $445. Referral rebates are also available for current campers who recruit new friends to join them.
