Hope you are making plans to join us in St. Louis on March 20-22 for the 2014 Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. The Conference Preview is available at http://www.csctfl.org and includes more than 180 sessions and 30 workshops (including the ACTFL Workshop ” Planning for Student Learning: Effective Curriculum, Unit , and Lesson Design” and the CSCTFL Extension Workshop “Keeping it in the Target Language”) as well as a variety of special events and opportunities for networking.

A number of Ohioans are among the presenters , and there are Ohioans serving on various conference committees as well as the CSCTFL Board of Directors. We ARE Central States, and Central States is US! Don’t miss out on the learning, fun and networking at our regional conference – make plans NOW to come to St. Louis. You might even want to consider bringing friends or family – the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark is very close to the famous Arch, Busch Stadium, and other points of interest in this great city.

It is not too late to join Advisory Council, but hurry since the price increases slightly after December 1. We highly recommend Advisory Council membership since it includes benefits such as free conference registration, a reception and meeting at the annual conference, nominating privileges for CSCTFL awards and Board of Directors, voting privileges, scholarship opportunities, offer to preside at workshops, and the opportunity to serve on committees , and all for a very reasonable price. It has been my personal experience that participation with our regional conference becomes a bridge to increased involvement with our profession as a whole. Join us and see for yourself!
