Are you interested in providing your students with an opportunity that challenges their linguistic skills, recognizes their artistic talent, and incorporates culture? The Concurso Colorido, AATSP’s coloring contest, is a great way to do just that. We invite you to check out how this contest can motivate our youngest learners while giving them an opportunity to express themselves.
Students in grades K–8 who take the National Spanish Challenge (NSC) are invited to take part in the Concurso Colorido. For the contest, students get to illustrate and color an image depicting the N of National, the S of Spanish, and the C of Challenge. They can use any images related to Spanish or Portuguese themes, such as flags, food, animals, or landscapes, to name a few. What a great way to showcase students’ creativity!
How can my students take the National Spanish Challenge?
- All teachers with an active AATSP membership can register students for the National Spanish Challenge.
- The National Spanish Challenge is an online contest recommended for students in grades K–6, but is open to students through grade 8.
- Open registration: October 15, 2026 – February 1, 2027
- Cost per student: $6
How can my students enter the Concurso Colorido?
- After you register for the National Spanish Challenge, simply download the NSC coloring sheet and give one to each student who took the NSC.
- Once students complete their artwork, submit it by February 16, 2027, using the online form at the link above.
- A committee evaluates the artwork and chooses three winners.
- Winning students will receive a prize.
The contest is now open and runs from October 1, 2026, to February 16, 2027.
All submissions will be posted on the AATSP Concurso Colorido website.
We encourage all AATSP members who give the NSC to submit their students’ artwork!
