TESOL Liaison Report

The TESOL Conference will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center again this year on October 30 and 31, 2015. We will have invited guests who will discuss the new ELPA 21 exams as well as the new Content Standards.

This year, several professional development opportunities are being held throughout the state. We held one in the Columbus area in April about the unaccompanied minors who are and will continue to arrive in our state.

Various teacher groups have worked with ODE to roll out the Ohio’s Learning Standards for World Languages and have written and presented on how to teach using these new standards.  They should be placed in conjunction with the new TESOL exam which will go into effect in the next school year.
