Annual AATF-Ohio Immersion Weekend a Success

Members from across the state travel to Dillon State Park

Megan Murphy, Vice President, AATF-Ohio
French Teacher, Maple Heights High School

Every fall French teachers from around the state gather at a state park for our annual French immersion weekend. This year, ten teachers gathered on September 20-22 at Dillon State Park to share stories, give advice, and just have fun in the language they love.

The beautiful fall weather provided a very scenic backdrop for a hike around the lake. Participants learned how to play the game Code Name Pictures in French and had a lot of fun with our annual competitive dictée.

Membership in AATF is a great way to build a supportive PLC with other French teachers around the state. You will get our newsletter and can participate in the events AATF organizes throughout the year. If interested in joining, visit the AATF site here. Make sure that you select “Ohio” when you join!

If you want to get involved, AATF-Ohio is organizing an upcoming guided visit, en français, of the current visiting Rodin exhibit at the Columbus Art Museum. The visit is scheduled for 10:00am on October 26. Members will go out to lunch together afterward. For more information and to RSVP please fill out this form.

AATF is interested in your feedback. Please take a few minutes to fill out a membership survey here.
