Submitted by Lucas Hoffman, AATF-Ohio Vice-president

The AATF officers would like to thank AATF’s own Jean-Pierre Berwald for coming to Central States for his “Vignoble français” presentation and wine tasting.  We learned about the different wines of France and got to sample some whites and reds; we even got to play some wine trivia!  It was a nice evening to reconnect with our fellow French teachers and Francophile friends around the state.   Thanks again to Jean-Pierre for his trip out to Ohio and sharing his resources.

We are pleased to announce that the Ohio chapter of AATF has received almost $1000 in support for various grants and projects around the state of Ohio.  Congratulations go to Cuyahoga Community College, which received support for their Quebec Study Abroad program.   Are you interested in applying for financial support for your project promoting the French language?  See http://www.frenchteachers.org/hq/smallgrant.htm  The deadline will likely be March 1, 2014.

This is the French Immersion Weekend’s 10th anniversary this year!  We are planning special activities in honor of the celebration.   We eat great food, reconnect with friends and nature, and fall in love with French (all over again)!  The Immersion weekend will be held September 20-22nd at Mohican State Park.   Registration is expected to fill by late spring.  See this link for more information:    http://aatfohio.wordpress.com/immersion-a-mohican-du-20-au-22-septembre-2013/
