Recent OATC Events
OATC held a membership meeting and a workshop at the OFLA Annual Conference in April. The workshop featured presentations on ”Rhymes and Songs in Teaching Chinese,” “Grammar Through Story-Telling: The PACE Method,” “Technology in the Chinese Classroom,” and “Tips for Becoming a Seasoned Teacher.”
Upcoming OATC Events
OATC is collaborating with the Chinese departments at various universities throughout Ohio to provide workshops for Chinese teachers and contests for high-school students studying Chinese. These include the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures and the East Asian Studies Center at The Ohio State University as well as four Confucius Institutes at other universities throughout the state.
OATC Regional Meetings
OATC will soon be adding a chapter in Toledo, bringing the total number of chapters to five. The others are in Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Dayton. Each region holds meetings, presents teacher workshops, and has other activities.
