AATF-Ohio

Lucas Hoffman, AATF-Ohio Vice President

I would like to thank Pascale Abadie for her service as AATF-Ohio President and Vice-President.  Her enthusiasm and fun nature have made AATF a lot of fun these past couple years.  Another thank you is owed to Kathy Lewton for working in the role of secretary/treasurer these past three years.  That can often be a thankless job, I’m afraid.  She has done a wonderful job keeping AATF-Ohio in working order.  Merci à vous deux.  Vous me manquerez!

Congratulations to the winners from our officer election at our annual business meeting at OFLA in April!  Mary Townsend (teacher at Kettering Fairmont High School) was elected our Vice-President for 2014-2016.  Karine Ould-Daddah was elected Secretary/Treasurer for three years (2014-2017).  I look forward to working with them closely to continue programming for Ohio French teachers.

Ohio continues to have a very successful Grand Concours participation!  Judy Bates will be retiring from coordinating this task in order to enjoy full retirement now.  Félicatations!  Wright State University graduate student Samantha Stewart will be taking over.  More details to follow.

In May, AATF-Ohio hosted a guided tour of the Toledo Museum of Art’s Tuileries exhibit.  A handful of teachers from around the area were able to join us. We would like to continue these social/cultural outings, which can also provide meaningful networking/PD tools for us to take back to the classroom.   If there are any events going on in your part of the state, please let me know; maybe we can set up a “group outing”.

This fall, AATF-Ohio will host its eleventh Immersion Weekend at Mohican State Park September 19-21, 2014.  There are still places available.  Register soon, please!  To register:http://aatfohio.wordpress.com/immersion-a-mohican-2014/
