Kaleigh Baker, OFLA President

Hello! I hope this message finds you well and ready for an exciting new semester filled with language exploration, cultural immersion, and academic growth.

The beginning of a new semester is always a thrilling time, marked by the promise of fresh experiences and the opportunity to delve into the rich tapestry of languages that connect us all. Whether you are a seasoned language educator or just beginning your journey, the Ohio Foreign Language Association is here to support and inspire you.

As we start this new calendar year, I am delighted to invite you to the highlight event of our academic calendar—the annual OFLA Conference. This year, the conference will take place March 7-9 at Otterbein University and will provide a platform for language enthusiasts, educators, and scholars to come together and connect on many levels.

Registration is currently open! Please visit our webpage here to register today.

Our annual conference is a unique opportunity to engage with fellow language enthusiasts, participate in thought-provoking sessions, and gain valuable insights into the latest developments in language education and research. This year’s theme, “Connect, Collaborate, & Communicate,” encourages us to delve into the interconnected nature of languages and cultures, fostering a deeper understanding of the world around us.

Key Highlights of the Conference:

1. Diverse Workshops and Sessions: Engage in sessions covering a wide range of topics. For an additional fee, we have a variety of workshops on Thursday, March 7! See the Digital Program HERE.

2. Variety of Exhibitors & Vendors: This year we have a great group of vendors and exhibitors to enrich, supplement, and inform all attendees!

3. Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow language enthusiasts, educators, and professionals, fostering collaborations and friendships that will enrich your language journey. We have a special Debriefing room as well as scheduled time on Friday, March 8 for getting together with language-specific organizations as well as language sessions for practicing with colleagues and peers.

To ensure you don’t miss out on this enriching experience, I encourage you to register for the conference at your earliest convenience.

The Ohio Foreign Language Association is committed to providing a supportive community for language learners and educators alike, and I look forward to seeing each of you at our annual conference in March.

Thank you for your continued dedication to the exploration and appreciation of foreign languages.

Warm regards,
Kaleigh Baker
