ACTFL  and OPI Assessment/Writing Proficiency Guidelines Familiarization Workshops for Japanese Language Teachers

In 2012-2013, the OATJ made an effort to familiarize its members with ACTFL proficiency guidelines in OPI (Oral Proficiency Interview) and WPT (Writing Proficiency Test).  On August 9-12, 2012, we held OPI Assessment Workshop at The Ohio State University, and as a follow-up activity, a Writing Proficiency Guidelines Familiarization workshop was held at The Ohio State University on May 19, 2013. Both workshops were held with a grant from The Japan Foundation and Department of State Title VI grant through the OSU East Asian Studies Center and with administrative assistance from The OSU Institute for Japanese Studies. We hope that these workshops will help Japanese teachers in Ohio with the new SLO initiative.
