Good luck to all!
Very good news for in-service teachers and prospective college students – Several proposals by President Trump that would limit or eliminate current student loan programs and policies have not been approved! They included: Elimination of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF); Elimination of Most Repayment Plans In Favor of a Single Income-Driven Repayment Plan; and the Elimination of the Student Loan Interest Deduction.
For in-service WL teachers and university representatives who prepare world language teachers, the Ohio Department of Education’s survey on revisions to the current K12 World Language Standards is open through Jan. 21, 2019. It takes about 45 minutes to respond particularly if you add comments. Here’s the link: https://www.ohio-k12.help/standards/
Last, in this season of resolutions, let us all resolve not to discourage any student from their desire to pursue a career in teaching and, in particular, those students in our world language classes! .
Best wishes for a happy, healthy and meaningful New Year!
